IT Academy U.K Limited (“IT Academy”/”we”/”us”/”ourselves”), acknowledges the importance of your privacy and is committed to protecting any personal information we collect.

  • Billing details and relevant financial information where you enter into a contract with us.
  • Tracking information and statistics generated by our website systems or learning platform.

How we get the personal information and why we have it

Most of the personal information we process is provided to us directly by you for one of the following reasons:

  • When you visit our website and/or correspond with us by telephone or email/written communication.
  • When you register to use our online products/services.
  • When you enter into a contract with us and proceed with online studies provided by ourselves.
  • For issuing of certification and/or exam documentation on completion of studies.

We utilise “Cookies” in our website in some places, which are subject to your specific consent being granted therefore in respect to your personal information.

We may also receive personal information indirectly, from third party service providers from time to time for marketing purposes.

We use the information that you have given us in order to develop and progress your interest in our products/services with a view to finalising a contract with yourself, by and on condition of your opt in thereto:

  • communicating with you, including via email and newsletters.
  • negotiating a contract between yourself and us.
  • to identify the number of people using our website services and establish the specific nature of their interests.
  • to facilitate registration and on-boarding of learners.
  • conducting marketing activities.
  • providing you with information about our services and products.

We may share this information only as necessary with our training platform and certification providers and third party contractors who maintain our systems.

In the case of ourselves being obliged by law without your consent to disclose your personal information, or by a competent authority to investigate suspected unlawful activity, we shall do so.

Under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), the lawful bases we rely on as a “controller” for obtaining and processing this information are:

How we store your personal information

Your information is securely stored in our computer systems and is not disseminated to any other parties unless as mentioned above.

We keep your personal information for a maximum period of 12 months in accordance with our courseware timeframes unless you specifically agree otherwise. We will then dispose your information by system deletion and shredding in the case of any hard copy documentation, unless required longer by law.

Please note however that whilst we will take all reasonable steps to ensure the security of your information at all times, no use of the internet can be guaranteed to be 100% safe or secure and accordingly use is at your own risk.

In instances of our website containing links to third-party websites you use these websites at your own risk and you should separately check the privacy policies of these websites.

Your right of access – You have the right to ask us for copies of your personal information.

Your right to rectification – You have the right to ask us to rectify personal information you think is inaccurate. You also have the right to ask us to complete information you think is incomplete.

You are not required to pay any charge for exercising your rights. If you make a request, we have one month to respond to you.
